Situated in the middle of the beautiful Cartmel Valley, Broughton House is the perfect place to relax and unwind, away from the bustle of the central Lake District. Built around 1810, and set in two acres of south facing gardens within the Lake District National Park, Broughton House is a peaceful haven away from it all, yet is only a 20 minute drive from Junction 36 of the M6 motorway.
Two miles to the south is the village of Cartmel, with its 12th century Priory, and famous race course. Here you will find restaurants and pubs, including Michelin starred L’enclume and its sister restaurant, Rogan & Company, the Sticky Toffee Pudding shop, Cartmel Cheeses, and many others. Three miles to the north is Newby Bridge, at the southern tip of Windermere. Ambleside, Coniston and Langdale are less than an hour’s drive away.
